I met the majority of my clients while they were dating or engaged, having just gotten their first puppy! As time went along, people married, dogs grew up, and children arrived expanding my world to an entire Purple Paw community!!
I created this business after 23 years of being a professional vocalist, first starting out in the studio as a jingle singer, for television campaigns such as Maybelline, Pillsbury, Seven Up and Miller Lite, then transitioning to becoming a touring vocalist with Boz Scaggs,
Al Jarruea's All Star Band, Tears for Fears and Berlin. And it was during my world tours as a harmony singer that I became familiar and quite in need of a professional pet sitter, who in turn gave me great peace of mind while away from my precious ones, setting the standard of what quality and excellant care was all about.
When I decided to stop touring, ironically my pet sitter was closing her business, and I decided to open my own company, to not only fill the need of her clients that she graciously she referred to me, but of all pet lovers in the San Fernando Valley, focusing on Studio City, Toluca Lake, North Hollywood, Colfax Meadows and Sherman Oaks.
Animals have always been a huge part of my life since I was a child. I feel empathically connected to them. They bring me great joy and have taught me many lessons in life. I cannot image my life without animals, and I know that my clients feel just as passionately about their furry family members as I do. And I understand first hand the needs of people who are away.
The high point of my musical career was becoming the first signed artist to the Grammy Foundation's Art of Music Division, my paintings being showcased alongside the works of Jimi Hendrix, Paul McCartney and Grace Slick to name a few. My first Grammy Sponsored art show was in Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas. So recently, in addition to my dog walking and pet sitting services, I have expanded my business to creating pet paintings from photos I take, and/or photos clients provide. They make very precious memorial keepsakes or just great gifts for the person that may have everything else!!! And it is heartwarming to be able to make people so happy!!
Being in the animal care business now for 8 years I have had the good fortune of meeting many other professionals who provide services for pets and people in various catagories. I have provided a page for the wonderful people that I endorse and who have great talents in their own specialties.
